If you have one of our new Easy Fit HWT Titanium Cylinders, you will probably never need to adjust the in-built "Evo" regulator.
If you have our Titanium Cylinder & Pre-Chamber Insert, follow these instructions to change the regulator pressure setting:
Before you start, make sure that the rifle is unloaded, remove the magazine and make absolutely sure that ALL of the air has been drained from the cylinder before you unscrew it from the gun. The pressure gauge on the front of the air cylinder will give you just an indication of the air pressure inside the cylinder - dry fire the rifle until all of the air is drained.
The Evo Regulator is equipped with a pressure scale on the neck and a set mark on the top of the brass set screw as indicated by the red arrow in the picture. This enables you to re-adjust or fine-tune your regulator exactly to your specifications. The picture shows the set mark pointing to 80bar. The 2023 regulator also includes a 12mm locking nut as indicated by the black arrow in the picture - this locks your reg pressure setting into place and reduces regulator "creep" and inaccuracies found in other regulators.
Once the Air Cylinder is empty & has been removed from the gun, unscrew the end cap from the Air Cylinder at the breech end (this is where the regulator is housed).
Use a vice to hold the breech end air cylinder end cap. Protect the end cap from the jaws of the vice with a bit of leather as pictured - an old leather belt cut up into pieces is perfect. DO NOT grip the end cap in a vice directly with no protection, always cushion with a piece of leather or something similar on both sides otherwise the end cap will get damaged.
First, you need to unlock the locking nut so that you can adjust the reg pressure: whilst holding the 10mm spanner on the adjusting nut at the top of the regulator, loosen the 12mm locking nut as indicated in the picture (left to loosen, right to tighten).
Once the locking nut has been loosened, turn the 10mm adjuster to your desired pressure - clockwise to reduce the pressure or anti clockwise to increase the pressure to your desired setting. Use the indicator on the top of the adjuster to point to your desired reg pressure.
Whilst still holding the adjuster with the 10mm spanner in place, lock off the 12mm adjusting nut to secure the new regulator pressure setting. That's it.
Do not attempt to fit this regulator in a different rifle, it has been custom made to fit inside the HW100Tuning Titanium Cylinder End Cap. It does not fit inside the air tube like other after-market regulators do - they take up precious space inside the tube whch means your air capacity is reduced - reduced air capaity, lower shot count. Our design maximises air capacity inside the tube, to maximise the amount of shots per fill. Although you can fill our cylinders to 250bar, most regulators work much more consistently at about 230bar.
Original design by HW100Tuning and only available through us - we do not make them for any other company (despite what they might tell you!)
NEVER remove the cylinder from your gun whilst it is pressurised. You must remove ALL of the air first (dry fire until empty).
NEVER put oil or grease of any kind on the threads of the titanium cylinder or on the end caps. It can cause the threads to bind/seize. Only ever apply grease to the oring seals.
FILLING TRICK: Once you have installed the cylinder and you are ready to fill the cylinder with air, a common problem on the HW100 is that the exhaust valve will often allow a leak down the barrel if you start filling really slowly - the trick is to give it a coule of short, sharp fill blasts to get the pressure up behind the exhaust valve when you start - then you can continue to fill at a normal rate.
